On #InternationalTranslationDay, a note from our Translators – #Tamil #தமிழ்

Many PARI stories have been translated from English to Tamil. On International Translation Day,  September 30, 2017, one of our Translators in Tamil has shared his thoughts with us.

Vishnu Varatharajan

Vishnu Varatharajan, Translator, Tamil

I’ve been fascinated by translations and the wonders it achieves – understanding, empathising, accepting, and connecting people across cultures. Being a humble tool that realises it gives an unparalleled contentment. Not to mention doing it for a noble cause like PARI.

Some of the stories that Vishnu has translated into Tamil for PARI are:

Suicide in pursuit of a passbook  by Rahul M இப்படிக்கு, ஒரு விவசாயியின் மகன்

Sirangaayi, Ayyampatti village, Sivagangai district, Tamil Nadu

Not a drop to drink by Aparna Karthikeyan  தண்ணீர்..! தண்ணீர்..!

Debal Deb, Ecologist, Rayagada district, Orissa

The barefoot conservator by Chitrangada Choudhury

பாரம்பரிய விதைகளின் பாதுகாவலர்
